The National & Community Service report noted that there is a strong link between health and volunteer service. “This research has established a strong relationship between volunteering and health: “those who volunteer have lower mortality rates, greater functional ability, and lower rates of depression.” A study released by John Hopkins University in 2009 also found that volunteering regularly also increased your brain function.
